Journal for Sept. 3--What is ONE example of technology that humans rely upon too much?

What is ONE example of technology that humans rely upon too much? Why do you think we use it too much? Would we able to function without it? What did we do without it 50 years ago—or even 10 years ago?

Steve Jobs--the iPod is obsolete!

  1. The technology that I believe us humans rely on too much is cell phones. I think we use cell phones so much each and every day, because we enjoy the apps, texting, calling, searching the web, and the unique and cool features that come with the phone. People enjoy up to date inventions. Our phones could be used as alarm clocks, used as an mp3, and even as a computer. Our phones in our hands are basically our miniature computers.
I do believe that people would be able to function without cell phones, but I also believe, that people would have a hard time without their cell phones, or even without any technology. The reason I believe this, is because people are so accustomed to technology. 10 years ago, I believe people used their phones rarely. 10 years ago people were not too much for technology I think. Technology totally evolved over the years.

  2. One of the things that we rely upon the most is our cell phone. We use it so much because it makes everything easier. We have communication with everyone through calls, texts, and social media right at our fingertips. Last year if edline was down or the internet wasn't working some classes would not be able to do all they were planning on because we depend so much on emailing and internet. 10 years ago if someone forgot their phone at home or they didn't have internet access it was not a big deal at all. At that time all we had was calling and texting. People used their house phones more often than they do now and not everyone had a cell phone. It wasn't a big deal to use someone else's phone.

  3. One example of technology that we rely on way too much is the internet. We use it for everything - for example, it is even becoming involved in school ciriculum. With such power at the tips of our fingers - the power to find the answer to anything in the world, we suddenly become lazy. We don't have to get up or even go anywhere to find the answers to our questions - we can simply Google them. Is this the death of pursuing truth through adventure? We use the internet so much simply because it enables us to do nothing. If internet were to be taken away from us right now, in this day and age - I do not think many people would know how to fuction without it. I think we honestly would be in a state of shock or denial. Ten or fifty years ago, I think we would have functioned perfectly fine without it. If we would have used the resource of books more often, and maybe then instead of replacing book stores with electronic heavens, we'd value knowledge itself more than the technology that connects us to it.

  4. One example of technology that humans rely on too much is internet. I'm using internet to type this right now. Conversations in person are being replaced by online messaging. Movies, books, news, music, and games are found on the internet. Humans rely on the internet too much. We use it so much because it is so very convenient for most people. It was not as available to everyone as it is now 50 years ago. Computers were just beginning to be revolutionized. We would have a hard time adjusting to functioning without it.

  5. Computers are one example of technology that humans rely upon too much. Teenagers are constantly on the computer to stay connected to the world. Adults use computers mainly for work purposes, but "need" it as much as teenagers. Children now are becoming advanced in computers because they are taught to stay current with the technology based world that we currently live in. Life was simpler 50 years ago without computers, but it was also harder to connect with the rest of the world. Computers have become the lives of many humans today, which, in my opinion, can be disastrous for the impending future.

  6. One example of technology we rely on too much is the internet. People do everything on the internet lately. If there's a bit of information you need all you have to do is look on google. Not only information but most forms of entertainment can be found on the internet. Not long ago people would have to go to a library or somewhere other than their computer or phone to get information. Internet made life a lot easier and a lot lazier.

  7. Humans rely on computers almost everyday therefore computers run our lives. Technology has become so far advanced that people can tell their cell phones or computers what to do and it will do the command that you tell it to do. Humans use computers because they are simply a finger touch or voice command away from getting simple necessities such as taking a picture, looking up a definition or creating a grocery list out of the way without even getting up and moving. People can not function without the help of technology because they have based their lives off of simple things that computers do for them and humans wouldn't know what to do for example when they couldn't just easily look something up on the internet and within 30 seconds find the answer they were looking for. Without computers or such high technology levels we had to do more manual labor we did not rely on computers to do our work for us.

  8. Humans rely too much on Itunes, for a means of music. Itunes has become a corporate monster, that pesters you with updates, and constantly increases the prices for songs and videos. People have become so accustomed to itunes and ipods, that they for get about things such as cds, and vinyl records. I admit, that i use my ipod for music, when i'm on the go, but i will always love taking a record, putting it on a record player, and letting it play. 10 years ago people were starting to use mp3 players and online music. 50 years ago (1963), in order to listen to music, you had to use a radio, and find a station that had your favorite songs, or go into a restaurant or diner, and play a song off of a jukebox. This is why i fear the future of humanity. I'm worried that decades from now, our kids will have no clue, what a book, or vinyl record was.

  9. One example of technology that humans rely on too much is the internet. We always depend on the internet to have an answer that we need. Now in days, everything can be found on the the internet. Whether its the weather, any type of information, music, videos, images, or even communicating, we have quick access to all of it with the internet. I think we use it too much because it has been made so simple to use that we can use it whenever. What we did 50 or 10 years ago without the huge advantage and progress of the internet was use books and different resources. It was much different and we did not rely on the internet like we do now .

  10. Transportation, people drive and use electric scooters. Nobody ever walks to the store or the park, they mostly drive there. People need to walk and move around. In the movie WALL-E every single person has a scooter to move around. People will gain weight and become very lazy. One hand it is okay if the elderly use it, but if a young person is using a elevator just because they are lazy is what we rely on too much.

  11. How would you imagine your life without your cell phone? 10 years ago, you did not have to ask yourself that question. 10 years ago, people had other modes of communication and other ways to have fun. Technology has evolved over time. Cellular devices have become a crucial part of everyday life. People have become solely dependent on their cellphones. Many teenagers would not be able to function without them because of their lack of resources. They have adapted to them and would not be able to function properly without it. Yes, smart phones can benefit us because we have quick access to people or apps and have the internet at our hands, but it may also restrict us from doing other productive things such as reading. People also don't know the risks of carrying a thin object on our persona. The radiation produced can increase the chances of getting cancer. Cell phones have become very convenient, while also intervening with mental development. People have relied on something so obsolete, yet so inexplicable, and it is not necessarily a 'bad' thing...

  12. One example of technology that humans rely on too much is money. To be honest I think it is the worst invention ever thought of. Our whole success in life is determined by how much of it we have. It determines our education, our resources, and most of all our survival. It scares me to think that my success and maybe even happiness in life will be determined by a piece of paper. This piece of paper has caused a lot of greed and evil in people. It is the ultimate destruction. Money is literally in everything we do. It is life and it is also death...

  13. Humans rely too heavily on the internet. Barely anyone does not use the internet at least once a day. People today use the internet first before any other means of finding information. It can be the ultimate waste of time. People rarely go out because practically everything they would ever need is at arms reach with the internet. Think what would happen if the internet was taken away. Everyone would have to work much harder to find a means of information. There are other ways of discovering out there. One does not need to rely solely on the internet.

  14. An example of a piece of technology that humans depend on too much to me, is cell phones. Many, almost all, people use or own a cell phone. They depend on it for internet use, calls whether emergency or not, some use it as a bank, to shop for needs and desires and many other reasons. Cell phones are used everyday. Many people feel like they cannot function without a cell phone. If you were to think about it, only for one day if you forget to charge your phone, you can feel lost instantly. Some start to panic and become frustrated with an uncharged or lost cell phone, even for just a day. It is very uncertain for a person to predict whether or not we could survive without cell phones. Of course we didn't have or use them as often 10-50 years ago, but with the rest of the updated technology in the world, it would be difficult not having cell phones.

    ReplyDelete
  15. A technology that people are relying upon more and more is Google. People are using it way to much. When people have a question, they google it. The entire knowledge is at their finger tips with it. Just today, Google will have had 1.47 Billion page views. Without it, everything would change. People would loose a sense of knowledge, being able to find anything. 50 years ago, you would have to go to the library, and hope they had what you were looking for. Back then, with all that doubt, you would still be able to access a thousandth of a percent at your library back then, to what Google can get you now.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Technology has definitely changed enormously over 50 years. A kind of technology that really has had an impact in our world today is the internet. We use the internet for absolutely everything and we don't even realize it. For example, Google, millions of people use Google daily. Nowadays when people have a question, the term "Google it" comes in to play very often. Before, if people had a question they would either have to drive to the library and read about it, or just learn less knowledge about the world around them. Now we have internet even on our phones which makes it even easier to demand an answer quickly.

  17. I think we depend way too much on electrical outlets. This might sound strange, but I think it is true. Without electrical we wouldn't be able to charge cell phones, watch TV, cook on the stove, use the microwave, or use any electrical appliance. Don't get me wrong, we DEFINITELY need them. For instance a hospital probably has all of their electrical outlets plugged with gizmos, because it's important. We wouldn't be able to function with out, because electrical outlets are important. Without them, we couldn't have phones or fire alarms (which we all need) or anything to help our chances of survival. I think they did have electrical outlets 50 years ago, but more than 100 years ago they probably didn't. So maybe more than 100 years ago, the only way to get some form of light would be by candles or lanterns, instead of lamps. I think electrical outlets are here to stay, because we can't depend on batteries, even the rechargeable ones (you could lose them easily).

  18. A technology that people depend on too much is the cell phone. I guarantee you if you were to walk into a conference hall and the conference had not started almost everyone would be on there phone whether it be playing Angry Birds or sending emails. We depend too much on phones, while I admit that they can be helpful in emergencies, but we rely way too much on them. We literally check our phones the second we can. Oh and God forbid it dies or has a low battery here come the waterworks. We break down if we don't have our phones. Honestly what did we do just 10 years ago?!

    ReplyDelete
  19. One example that humans rely on too much is the cell phone. People are constantly texting and going on social media with it so much because of how developed it has become. It's a simple way to get everything done in a quicker amount of time than back in the day. People are able to call and text people instantly and even search up any question they have in a tap of a finger. 50 years ago if you didn't have a ride home you would find one yourself or just walk home. If you had a question you went to the library and looked for a book that might have the answer instead of just looking on the internet. I feel like it's made our life's easier but has come a little too far.

  20. One technology people rely on too much is the internet. I myself am guilty of this. You have so much information at your disposal which you can access almost everywhere now with smart phones. I think people would honestly be lost without it! Without that information at their fingertips they wouldn't know their left from their right. It truly is sickening to think about how much time we spend on the internet. I mean, I'm on the internet right now typing this. Without the internet how else would we do this assignment? Pencil and paper? Oh no.

  21. It is the 21st century and we have many things that people would never have imagined even just thirty years ago. We have portable computers surrounding our everyday life, laptops, ipods, ipads, cell phones;the list goes on. Sadly with that we have lost the value of knowledge and hard work. Our questions are answered seconds after their conception, it absolutely amazing the things we have accomplished in such a short span of time( I personally buy into the conspiracy theory that we have used reverse technology stolen from aliens).
But any of these single items alone would be useless without one thing. This is why I feel our biggest downfall is the internet. Without it we would be incapacitated. Ask a student to write a paper using only a library, I am almost 99% sure they would have no idea where to even begin looking for a book, because card catalogs are virtually unheard of today. Ask a normal everyday person to give up their wifi connection for just one day, NO WAY! Think of all the facebook posts they'd be missing, their tumblr blog would be neglected! How would the get along?!
The one thing all of our technology has in common is the internet. What would happen if we lost that? I'm sure we would be beside ourselves.

  22. One example of technology, that most people rely on today, would have to be cell phones. We use them for everything, texting, talking, listening to music, and playing games, all at the touch of our fingers. It makes our lives easier, ten years ago, our parents didn't call us on our phones to come in, they would just yell outside. I honestly, couldn't live without my cell phone, it's glued to my face every second of the day. Phones are like children to us, you can get cases for them, some cost more, but we all love them, so overall I don't think we could live without them. Fifty years ago, our grandparents, parents trusted them. They didn't need to know where they were every second like our parents do, due to society, and many areas getting worse. Back then you didn't have to worry about your kids if they said they'd be somewhere they were there. Nowadays kids try to go against what their parents say and sneak around, which is probably one reason they sell, cell phones with GPS tracking devices in them.

  23. When I was around the age of 5, I did have a computer. However, I did not have internet on the computer. Our family only used the computer to type up documents and to play games on, for example: Back Yard Baseball. Now-a-days, things have changed drastically. Press the on button and you are ready to search anything that comes to your mind. We as humans depend on the internet to much. Not only can we get it on our computers, but we can get it on our phones, Ipods, Ipads, and even through our T.V.
I think that the internet is used to much because it is the easiest way to search something and find the answer in a matter of seconds. Who needs a library anymore when you can be laying in bed to find the answer of your question?

  24. An example of technology that has become so much apart of our lives is cellphones. Cellphones have become a source for everything; communication with friends, social networking, internet access, and more apps than you could imagine. All of that in the palm of your hand. Instead of going outside to do stuff, more and more people are spending their time on their phone. Cellphones have become so much apart of the lives of people that that is all they do all day long, everyday. Spending time on a cellphone as much as people do now was not happening 10 years ago. There wasn't a touch screen or a voice commanded system that could do everything for you. People survived just fine without the most fancy phone around, but now to some people having a flip phone is impossible to live with.

  25. One example of technology that humans rely on too much is a cell phone. Cell phones allow us to browse the web, communicate with friends, and access the multiple social media websites we all have. Now-a-days newer is better, and that same case applies to phones. People go to the extremes of camping out by Apple or other phone stores to buy a phone that will be outdated in as little as six months. We use it too much because of all that it supplies for us. Libraries are unheard of due to downloading a book on a cellphone or Googling something right at the palm of your hand. I do not think most of us can live without it. It has now been accustomed to our everyday lives. Fifty to ten years ago, we would have done things the old fashioned way, and used the resources around us to get an answer to a question, talk to a friend, or watch a movie.

    ReplyDelete
  26. One example of technology that humans rely on too much is the cell phone. The cell phone is the only thing some people use to contact others. I think we use it so much because it is an easy way for us to contact someone no matter where we or that person is. Also, using the internet on your phone is convenient when you need to know something but don't have access to a computer. We would be able to function without it, because obviously people did before they were even invented. 50 years ago or even 10 years ago technology was not this advanced. People would communicate through e-mail or writing letters, not texting someone across the country and getting a reply 2 minutes later.

    ReplyDelete
  27. An example of technology that humans depend on the most everyday would have to be electricity in general. Almost everything in this world runs on some form of electricity. Humans have become so dependent on electricity, it pretty much runs our lives. Now and days if the power goes out for even an hour, people don't know what to do with themselves. Its actually pretty sad if you think about how much we let the need for electricity control us. Yes, electricity has led to numerous inventions, but it has also started to rot our brains. Most people would not be able to go a day without electricity, so i cant imagine that anyone could live without it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. An example of technology that humans rely on too much today would have to be the Internet. Every one has access to it, everyone uses it, it's how information is communicated, and this century has pretty much put it on a high pedestal. Long before the Internet was even invented we did live without it, but right now, at this very moment, do I think the people living in present day would be able to survive without? Definitely not. The Internet is so up to date and tells you what you need to know. At this very moment the internet is being used for you to read these blogs and comments! Ten years ago I was five, and maybe only had a slight clue of what the Internet was. I was too focused on coloring, Power Puff Girls, and playing outside with my neighborhood friends. Today you have 5 year old's playing games online, or even reading a book online. Technology has evolved over time, and can only get more up to date.

  29. The type of technology that we rely on to much is the internet. There are so many things that you can do on the internet. Our every day life is basically on the internet, we can shop, talk, play games, work, read, watch videos, and so much more. The internet is good and bad, it could end a persons career just with one Tweet that could go viral and hurt that persons life forever. Also the internet can begin someones career like a athlete's video on YouTube can be looked up by college recruits and give them a scholarship, or a charity's video can change someone's life to help that cause. We use the internet for for both work and play, we use Google to help us with our homework and we use OovoO to talk to our friends through a webcam. Without internet we would be lost, students would actually have to READ books, we would lose touch with most of the world and what is going on, we would not be able to watch Netfilx on our computers to watch the latest episode of Breaking Bad or Mad Men, without internet our lives would never bee the same. Ten to fifty years ago the internet was just little baby that no one knew what would happen with it, now it is a full grown monster that has taken over our lives, I know I would lose my mind if I didn't have a Twitter.

    ReplyDelete
  30. In my opinion I think that humans rely to much on electricity. We use electricity for every little thing to charge our phones or to watch TV. For people who lived 50 years ago would not have even have imagined what we can do now. Another thing I think humans rely to much on is any kind of transportation because teens now a days can hop in their car and drive around but back in the days teens didn't have cars they had to walk to get where they wanted to go.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The technology I believe that is overly used today would have to be the cell phone. Everyone pretty much has one now. Kids very young are even starting to have them, as young as the age of 8. I believe the cell phone is used for everything, without them the world would go crazy and maybe even crash completely. A lot of business workers as well as students keep all of their information on their smart phone, because it is the easiest to pull up.
I can honestly say without my phone, I would lose a whole bunch of information. For example I would probably lose contact with many friends and family members because I would not be able to contact them as quickly. I would also have no idea where to go , without google maps on my phone I have absolute no idea where I am going. I know it's sad, But it's very true. More and more each day humans are becoming more attached to their cell phone. I believe this problem will continuing growing, because technology is becoming better and quicker. Cell phones will always be something the world will be attached to weather you like it or not.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I believe we use the internet too much. We rely on the internet for everything in life. We can pay bills, communicate, read, work, etc… but the way I see it is that even though we rely on the internet this much we need to take a break from it every once and a while to get a grip. If we use the internet too much one day we will have no need for paper money, there would be no paper ever printed such as books. One day there would be no hard copies ever! We all think that it's great and helpful but what if it crashes, what if
we relyed on it so much that if it ever went down the whole world would be nothing? We would have no idea what to do with ourselves. I know I be lost if I didn't have internet. I can't see life without it now that it's around. Fifty years ago the internet wasn't even invented people had no idea this would happen. They relyed on family, cleaning, and the outdoors to keep them entertained. In 2003 people had no idea this internet would take us this far the internet surrounds us so much that I think we would all loose our minds not having it in our lives on a daily basis including myself.

  33. In today's society, the use of technology as a whole is becoming too depended upon. To be more specific, cell phones have become the new predators for this technological "thirst" we, humans, have yearned and longed for for so long. From the 1980's and even today, over 85% of the population (over age 15) use his or her cell phone daily. This includes the ample amount of: tweets, statuses, pictures on Instagram, and blogging on Tumblr the average teenager does on a daily basis. Not only are teenagers the blame for this sudden plunge in use, but so are adults. Emailing and just being nosey, i.e. checking up on his or her teenager's usage, really contributes to the unsurprising numbers. According to my belief, I would say society puts this spotlight on cell phones. Now, let me explain. In today's world, a person has to have a cell phone to even be "in the know." If a person doesn't have a cell phone, he or she will miss almost a lifetime's events, all in one hour! Thus, forcing me to believe THERE IS NO WAY SOCIETY CAN REMAIN LEGITIMATELY FUNCTIONAL WITHOUT A CELL PHONE. Honestly, one would just want a cell phone to be "cool." Answer this question: does a Nokia phone allow you to talk, text, and take pictures? Yes. Are these the basic essentials a phone needs? Yes. Now, answer this: does an Apple iPhone do the same? Yes. Which would one prefer over the other? The iPhone of course! The reason Being is because a person doesn't want to seem "lame" walking around without the latest, most hi-tech phone. I say this as I write a roughy draft of this journal in the 'Notes' section of my iPhone 5.
In 5 to 10 years, cell phones will be obsolete. In fact, I'm almost positive those Google glasses will be out, which apparently has the capacity and ability to do that of a cell phone. Basically, don't upgrade your new phone; save for the Google glasses. You will be two steps ahead of the game!

  34. One example of technology that humans rely to much on in my opinion would be the Internet. People use the Internet daily to find answers to questions, browse various websites, and to connect socially with many of their friends. I think that the Internet is probably the biggest technological advancement that we as humans rely on. I think that the people who are already addicted to the Internet should maybe try and find something else to do instead of sitting on the Internet all day. I feel that if we continue to advance the Internet more and more people will become hooked on it. I feel that humans should try to stay away from the Internet

  35. I think the technology we use way to much is our cell phones. We use it to much because people start talking like they are texting ex: LOL. 50 years i think people used to just go out and party and eat food. But I know life would never be the same if we all got our phones taken away from us.Its not really possible,we all would just stand around and look at one another.

  36. In the 21st century something that I think people rely on too much is computers. Most students in high school now a days always use google for homework help. Everyone relies on their computers for educational help when it really isn't needed. When students use the interent for homework instead of using their textbook they dont really learn anything. For some people who take a language they use google translate for a lot of homework help. There fore people rely too much on the internt for help.

  37. Everyone else is wrong, we rely on computer chips. All our modern technology is based off of hard drives and computer chips. With one strong solar flare our daily lives would be destroyed any cell phone desktop laptop tablet we have is useless. 50 years ago we didn't have any of it, but the second it got introduced to us we've been stuck to it like bees on honey.

  38. Humans rely on all technology too much but one that stands out the most is the internet. Before the internet people went to the libraries to find research from books but now all they do is pull out their smartphone and search. When i was three i barely knew what a computer was , now almost all three year olds know how to use the internet to play games and etc. People are to relient on the internet. If one day the entire system crashed people would be lost.

  39. people use the phone to much for technology. I think people use there phone for texting , internet, face book , pone calling etc. I dont think some people would live without it, its like their addicted to what they have. Watch television and go outside and play. lol

  40. One example of technology that humans rely too much is cell phones. People are always on their cell phones and act like they barely use. They are always either texting, talking, or using the social media on their phones all the time. They also say they would cry or die if their phone was taken or didn't work anymore. 50 years ago people didn't have cell phones and would actually have conversations between each other. They would also interact and be active outside with other people. We should start taking away some advantages from phones away like social media and internet uses away from them.

  41. Humans rely on the internet too much especially GOOGLE. We use it too much because people are too lazy to research things themselves. Everyone just has GOOGLE answer whatever question they have. Years ago people would just look through books like what people now should be doing. People now are lazy where as back then they had no other choice. The more technology that comes out the more lazy people will become and also the more messed up the world will become!

  42. One example of technology humans rely on way too much is cell phones. People use cell phones so much it's starting to get out of hand! Cell phones are a big impact on why our would is messed up today in my opinion. I think we all rely on cell phones to much because they are made to do many things and people start to use it daily so they get use to it. When you have a cell phone you can do many things like browse internet, text, call, and even more. People don't realize now a days its taking our quality time away from our family. I don't think us human beings would be able to function without it because cell hones is how we get around and communicate to people. Back then in the 1980's or so on people wouldn't have cell phones they'd have school which was even better then only texting and talking through a portable device. Today, our society is messed up and one main reason is because of cells phones! It is taking our lives away from stuff we use to do back then.

  43. We, rely on cell phones to much. We want them to do everything knowing that they cant. I remember when i was little i would not even be worried about a cell phone. Back then all I all had was action figures, cars, and my box of crayons. Kids now have the iphone 5 and all us 90 kids had just had that one play walkie-talkie and crayons. Now it just rely cell phone this HTC,Apple,Google Nexus, and the blackberries. Now they have touch screen blackberries, The world has changed.

  44. Cell phones. I don't know why but they are overused to me. Boring and they aren't that fun. I know some friends who got a phone at like 6 years old and I'm like "Whyyy? You don't even need it. It's useless until you're like 15 16." It bothers me a lot and its disappointing. I don't hear people say that they don't want a cell phone, I'm like the only one. I would love to see people walk around WITHOUT a cell phone 50 years ago, but i love video games so 10 years ago is fine for me.

  45. In my opinion we rely too much on our smartphones because they have internet and you can text your friends. We use it too much because we can keep in touch with our friends through facebook, twitter, texting, etc. We would be able to function it because we don't need it like we need oxygen.

  46. People have their phones attached to their hips, ears or face most of their daily lives. Technology has advanced way too much that the world is just trying to catch up! Phones! Mobile devices!! All of the above! We have the world wide web at the palm of our hands with a touch of a sreen!! This world is spoiled rotten that we don't even dare to imagine life without these fancy gadgets.

  47. I personally think we depend on the internet and mobile devices way too much. Everywhere you go now a days has WIFI and codes and passwords so people can surf the web and continue with your social networking. Never do you see young people writing a letter and sending it off, instead, to communicate with one another, they shoot out a text or email or facebook or twitter message/post. Back in the old day, to use the internet you had to use your landline, call a number and hook it up to the computer's hard drive !!! The moment the internet went wireless, everyones's world changed. And then the creation of smartphones just put everything over the top. People no longer sit and talk. Now everyone's always on their phones and ipods . I honestly don't know how people survived with out wifi and smartphones/tablets.

  48. I would say we depend on our phones to much because especially woman always need their phone 24/7.Men we use our phones for work, talking to family and talking to people you don't normally see all the time. Phones have token over our lives. Phones have a couple of advantages but alot of disadvantages.

  49. Humans rely on there technology too much! Some would not be able to survive with out some type of electronic wether it be a computer, phone,T.V and a car. Most people get to work by car because their job is to far away from their home. Even if some don't use cars they use a train or bus Technology!. Most people watch T.V on a day to day basis some can not live with out it. They even made it now where you can record multiple shows at once and watch television at the same time. Phones. Mostly everyone all around the world relies on a phone wether it be a work phone a regular cell phone for you own usage or a home phone to get calls from family members. Now many parents are getting up to date with the latest technology and they try to figure out how to use them. Most kids know how to use phones and they would not be able to live with out them. Last of all our computers. If we didn't have computers we would have to go to the library just to research something. This is why humans depend on any type of technology

  50. I feel that humans rely on technology for many reasons. Now and days people depend on technology for anything! Everyday the world comes up with something big and new. It can be a good and bad thing though. If you rely on technology for everything you will not ever learn how to do anything by yourself and it can also affect you daily health. Technology these days is getting way out of control and if someone doesn't stop it now it can be a bad thing when it comes to the future.

  51. One example of technology that we rely on to much is the internet. Many people use the internet daily for a lot of different reasons and sources. Some people don't even need the internet but they use it so much that they don't even notice. We use the internet daily and without it many people would probably be lost. I think that we over use it so much because a lot of people are lazy and find searching something up on the internet much simpler and easier.
I think that people can probably function without the internet but would chose not to because the easier way of doing things in life was taken away from them and they don't like the fact that they have to work to find out what they need to find out.
When we didn't have the internet I don't think it really bothered or effected anyone because they didn't even know it existed. All of the things that people did without internet may seem too difficult or boring to people now but it was the only thing that they knew how to do to get their information and they used in there everyday life which made it normal for them.

  52. Technology plays a huge role in society today. One thing, I think, people can't live without is the Internet. The internet is used everyday by millions of people. For example, many people use Google everyday. Technology gets used all the time and you can even say it gets overused. If the internet is taken away from everyone, the world would have to go back to how it was before the internet was even invented.

  53. X box. Its out of date and not used anymore only if someone still has one. Lol.. But my little brother would not be able to experience how fun it is.

  54. the one piece of technology i think people couldnt live with out is tv. around my neighborhood before flat screens and other screens came out we were always outside..everyone..tv wasnt even important to us. we were like wow tv isnt really that cool it wont last. but now when i walk outside to go walk around i see noone all i see is people watching tv or i can hear tv. i remember when you use to see all these chalk games on the side walk or al of these board games outside with people playing on them. you dont even see a single person outside now unless they are too bored and theres nothing to watch.

  55. One form of technology i believe that we depend way to much is TV. Why go outside when you can watch nature channels. Why go to concerts when you can watch it all on the flat screen. Why play sports when you can watch other people play them. We rely on television far to much for entertainment. Without TV, I would probably kill myself out of boredom.

  56. Every school related morning I have to wake up with an alarm clock, or I won't wake up. I feel that alarm clocks are a form of technology that we depend on too much. Without these loud devices, we wouldn't see many of the faces that we see everyday, considering they would still be asleep. Without alarm clocks, several of us would have very awkward sleeping habits, or no sleeping habit at all; awakening whenever we please. That'd be nice, but we "need" alarm clocks.

  57. Apple products.. boy oh boy do we rely on apple products. Weather its the iphone, ipod, ipad, or mac. I cant see myself without them. I wouldn't be able to do my homework, listen to music, or worse, talk to "siri". That's how I think we rely to much on technology.

  58. One form of technology I believe that we depend way to much is cell phones. I think we use it t much because we really want to text our friends or make phone calls or even update our status on facebook to where we check our phones every 10 seconds. I think some people wont be able to function without their phone because they rely on it to much. People from 50 years without any cell phones did other things to keep them occupied such as things that made them think more and made them more active.

  59. i think that the technology that we seem to use on a regular basis is apple products.Everything we do and everywhere we go someone at least has an apple product.if not there probably going to get the latest one coming soon because apparently everybody's got to have it

  60. One type of technology that humans rely on too much is the internet. Before the internet, humans had to go to the library for all the information we needed. Now with the internet, humans could just go on their phones or laptop to find out information.
