Something that I experienced in my lifetime that little kids wont be able to experience would be board games. Before there was Ipad and not everyone had a computer, all I would do as a little kid is play board games with my little sister. Now with all this technology all kids to is go on their Ipad or computer and the board game is right there.
Back in my day, we used to go to friends houses and jump through their open windows to yell at them to get them outside! Nowadays kids text eachother...theres no fun in texting! It was like the goonies but in real life.
As a child I would go to the library to read for fun and to check out books for school projects. Sadly , if the way we live life today continues my kids will never be able to go to the library. We use the internet now. According to many people there is no use for books. I will truly miss the experience of having my own card and choosing my own books.
In today's society something my siblings or other kids won't probably experience that much from today is playing outside. I remember when I was a kid I use to go outside and play tag, hide and seek in the dark, ring around the rosy, or just fun adventurous games in my back yard. Playing outside was always special to me only because I had so many friends around the block and we would all get together to walk around the block or go ride our bikes to the park. Now a days most kids stay inside laying down, playing video games, or either on the phone all day. As i'm starting to grow up i'm realizing I feel bad for little kids born today in the world!
Kids wont experience the old Disney Movies. For example , the lion king,Cinderella, hercules.I watched all of those disney movies. Now kids wont see the awesome times. Now they have those lame cheesy cartoons.
There are many things that kids will never get to experience now in days even if it has to do with family, toys, or even outside activities. My favorite toy from when i was younger had to be the 3-D view master. The little binocular things that you would put a picture in the the top and click the button and different pictures would show!
Something that I experienced in my lifetime that is slowly becoming archaic is going outside and doing physical activities with friends. Most kids now just stay inside and stay on the internet and play their xbox or playstation. They will also never be able to experience the old cartoon network shows like Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Power Puff Girls.
Something I experienced in my childhood that made huge impact on my life was barbies. Its a shame that now and days little girls don't la with barbies anymore, they only play with games on there parents iPods or play with some other type of technology. Now and days kids no longer play with toys anymore and that just shows how much technology has taken over our generation.
Something that is becoming completely obsolete that I'm sure future generations will not experience, is probably sending and or receiving letters. There was just such a joy in receiving something in the mail in there with your name on it. Seeing who it was from and what it said was such a good moment. I miss sending letters. Now a days, kids don't need to do that. They have cell phones at age 5 and can text their friends instead. :/ How sad.
Video games that you play for the plot. Most kids play shooting games and other not-so-deep-in the-plot kind of games. Games like Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon, Shin Megami Tensei, Ace Attorney, and many others actually HAVE plots. Its all about being better than another on online multiplayer and graphics. Truly disappointing...
I control your life and I prevent you from fulfilling your life. Technology! I'm the youngest of three and I do prefer calling myself a "90's kid" because I am. The one thing that I know the new generation will miss out is have fun outside. Breathing the fresh air and playing actual games... Outside! Just having that social life of interacting with other kids and playing tag, freeze tag, or just board games... Outside! Television, smart phones, and these new game consoles haven't been around that long and ever since their establishment, obesity rate has sky rocketed and the social life and physical interaction with other people has decreased.
Ahh... I can just think about some of the things we used to do in the past and it occasionally comes to mind when I reflect upon experiences. Anyways, playing outside and other productive games is one thing that comes to mind. Unlike in today's society where people depend on "having fun" with technology, things before used to be ... more different, more interactive, more passionate. We used to play board games or play soccer outdoors where you can actually have fun without just sitting in front of a TV or computer for hours. Sure you can play interactive games with others online, but, real interaction is when your with the person that is playing with you. There's no shame in playing "old school" games, sometimes, one should just dip his time into the past.
Something that I have experienced in my lifetime but is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation is when you would watch something dangerous they didn't have to tell us to not try this at home. Now on every show with danger in it they say please do not attempt the actions you are about to see at home. It was special to me because the generation before our generation didn't try anything. Now our generation tried these and are warning the next generation to not do these.
Something that I have experienced in my lifetime that is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation is 3D pinball that was a built in mini game for the old PC's. Now its slowly becoming more and more archaic to the younger generation because theres newer computer games that kids play online and more kids are not or will never experience that typical game. There is also newer computer devises coming out such as apple computers or PC's they will have newer built in games in it as well as online games. 3D pinball was special to me because it was the only fun computer game I enjoyed playing when I was younger.
Something I experienced in my life time that children probably will not experience a lot today. When I was little I played board games and card games. Such as monopoly and sorry! I played Uno the card game. Children won't be able to experience these certain games because of technology. Computers have many games on them. Cellular phones have games on them so do Ipads and ipods.
Something I experienced in my lifetime that children today will probably not experience is fighting with your siblings. Although, your siblings may be annoying I think fighting with them is what brings you closer. It also brings along a ton of memories, it's something you can go back and laugh at years from now. They may not experience this because they'll always be to themselves. The children will probably stay locked in their rooms, watching television, on the internet, or their phones.
Something I experienced in my life time that children probably will not experience alot today..When I was little I would love to play with my army men and legos and make wars and stuff. Now adays kids play Blackops 2 a shootin game on xbox 360.
When I was a kid I always remember collecting cards. Any type of card like baseball, football, or even Pokemon cards. I hardly see anybody with those anymore. The way technology is constantly making our lives way to easy, who will need something as simple as trading cards to entertain themselves, when you can just go blow up aliens on your Xbox.
Something that I had experienced in my childhood that I always loved were the joystick games. They were usually connected to a television show or movie that had a couple of mini games that I would play. It was special to me because it always seemed to be a treat, something that I would only get to play with if I was good. Now kids have these types of games everyday at their side. It is frustrating because it seems as if they always have it easier.
One thing I expirenced that my younger brother and sister and children nowadays will never get the chance to was the old cartoons on like Channel 11. I dont know if anyone else remembers them, but I used to be so excited when i would get home from school to watch Channel 11. In the morning, I'd wake up to Mr. Robbert's Neighborhood and Sesame Street and when I got home from school it was Caillou and Arthur and Fetch with Ruff Ruff-Man and all those good old kiddie cartoons. Children nowadays are watching inappropriate shows with content meant for adults or on the internet watching inappropriate videos and games. Children today will never get the enjoyment children back in my younger days did when Elmo would talk to Dorothy or Mr. Noodle's family or when you had the excitment of figuring out Arthur's latest problem. Those shows taught you life lessons, while shows nowadays don't teach anything but stupidity.
Something that is slowly becoming archaic now than from when I was little is honestly Polly Pockets. I use to love them and play with them daily. I always use to buy them. Me and my best friend Lois always would play games with them and take them ever where we went! Now I don't even think they sell Polly Pockets at the store! It is really sad because I think children now don't experience dolls and toys because every thing is on an electronic device. Being a kid doesn't even feel like it is fun anymore. They never really get to experience even being outside. I know technology keeps getting better but it is really affecting children's personalities and child hood.
Polly Pockets. Every day when I was about seven years old, I would play with my Polly Pockets. Those were my favorite toy to play with. I would always play them with my sister, Ashley, and my cousins. Nowadays, my younger sisters don't want to play them at all. I see some in the stores sometimes and I'll point them out to my younger sister, telling her how much fun they are. She said she would rather just play with the apps on her iPod. I don't get why an iPod would be a lot more fun than Polly Pockets. I loved them. You could create your own little world and act it out. But with iPod apps, you only have to play within the game, not creating your own world. It's controlled somehow. Even till this day I don't like playing apps. I'm not big on iPod apps or android apps. Honestly, if I had a chance, I would play Polly Pockets with my little sisters. Polly Pockets were my childhood. With Polly Pockets I used my imagination and it was so much fun. That's why it's hard to understand why no girl would want to play them anymore. Kids are just focused on the next big thing. Apparently Polly Pockets are "lame". Or so my sister thinks. I don't care. They're missing out on the experience of imagination and I think that's sad. Imagination helps build the characteristics of people and I think kids are missing out on many activities that will build their personality.
Something that is becoming archaic for kids is playing outside. Now kids have technology to entertain them and they find playing outside boring because they can spend hours playing on their iPads or cellphones. They just don't know how to appreciate the little things in life that are right outside their front door.
Something that is becoming archaic for kids now is playing "hide and go seek". When I was a kid I would run around my block hiding in my neighbors yard and even in their garages. But now, all I see are little kids to entertained on their tablets.. how boring.
I don't know about you, but something that is becoming for kids are the virtual pet king chains. Virtual Pet Key Chains allowed you to have a "pet" on the go. Its simple you choose a pet, then play with it, feed it, and clean after it. If you wouldn't do that your pet would die. The key chains had like 3 or 5 small buttons, with an abit screen. Every ten seconds it would make an ANNOYING beeping sound to let you know if something was up. IF you ignored that (like what I do) you're pet would die. THE WORST PART was that YOU CAN NEVER TURN IT OFF!!! so you were doomed to play it until the batteries no longer worked.
Something that I have experienced in my lifetime that is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation is cartoons. The cartoons that are out now don't have the same innocent affect as they used to have. I grew up with cartoons such as Courage the Cowardly Dog and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and they were entertaining without being absurd. Kids today have a different sense of humor from kids that grew up around the same time I did, which is why I think that the cartoons today are the way they are because they are trying to cater to the humor of this generation. Cartoons have become completely archaic, which is why I stick to the classics.
One thing I experienced in my lifetime that I really loved was what most teenagers refer to as "The Old Disney". This included Lizzie Mcguire, That's So Raven, Even Steven, Phil of the Future, etc. These shows had real life problems and solutions and incorporated humor in an appropriate way. I feel like I learned several of my life lessons from Hillary Duff who played Lizzie. The girls weren't too skinny and they weren't walking around with make up caked over their faces. They also weren't obsessed with being famous or being rich or even having a boyfriend. They had real lessons that Disney shows today lack in.
Something that I experienced in my lifetime growing up that I did all the time was play board games. But in this generation it's extinct! In my opinion board games are so classic, such as Monopoly, Candy Land, and Sorry. I may not have won all the time, but they were still fun and competitive. Now a days kids can go online and pull up whatever board game they want which really isn't considered a BOARD game anymore, but more like a computer game. With all this technology a normal childhood can never be the same.
When I was a little kid, I didn't have many friends, because i was pretty weird, so the thing i used the most as a child was my imagination, I could go hours just having fun by myself by using my imagination, and kids now don't use theirs as often. They believe they have better things to do, like play video games, use their ipods or ipads, or watching television, that doesn't require them to imagine anything else or pretend that they're someone else, and I think that's really sad.
Kids these days will never be able to experience the Game Boy play system. Back then that game was very fun and entertaining to me, but now it has been replaced. New systems that serve the complete, same purpose include: X-boxes, Play Stations, and many more to come. The Game Boy was special to me, because I got it as a birthday present.
Sure, now-a-days, people still video tape their precious life moments, but with a video camera that all you do is stick a little card that saves all the videos. When I was younger, my parents would video tape all of us kids dancing in the living room, or building a water slide out side, or even recording the little hissy-fits we had. As soon as the turned off the video camera, we would beg "Can we watch ourselves on TV?" My favorite questions that my brothers would ask was, "Can we send that into America's Funniest Home Videos?" Everything was recording and put on VHS. Ask the younger generation what a VHS is and most of them will give you a blank stare. Today, everything is put on DVD's or even already streamed through your TV. It's the simple things like watching home videos in the VCR that makes me reminisce on my great childhood.
What I use to love back then and is becoming more archaic is the old Disney Channel. All your favorite shows would come on for example ''That so raven'' , ''Lizzie McGuire'', ''Even Stevens'',''Phil of the Future'' and many more. Sure you can go onto Netflix and watch it,but it will never be the same for the younger generation because the joy of actually watching all the Disney Channel and having the actors grow up with you was fun. Now its not even the same anymore ,childhood OFFICIALLY O V E R ....
I remember when all of my friends use to play yugio. But as time went on it just seemed to die out. As we got old it got old. It was really sad to see it go. I know a couple of friends who still enjoy it and I think that's great. Who knows maybe I'll get back into it to. Kids don't even play now they just gravitate towards electronics which is really sad. What is this world coming to?!
Something I remember doing was playing with my star wars action figures acting out different battle scenes using my imagination. I used to strive to get all of the different storm troopers to complete my squads. Now a days all kids have to do is plug in a machine and the story is right before their eyes and no creative activity is needed! Using their imagination is becoming obsolete to these younger generations.
Kids will never experience televisions show like we did when we were younger. For example, Disney Channel or Nickelodeon are nowhere near the same as before. I feel that they are just running out of ideas to make a show. Now, parents are too worried of what their children watch so they stopped showing all the good cartoons. I feel that television helps a kid grow up. Most kids learn from watching television whether we realize it or not. All these new generations will never have the same childhood as we once did.
Something I remember doing when I was littler would be playing with hotwheels. Now today, kids don't really play with hotwheels and it upsets me because I would play with those things for hours and hours every day! Maybe they stopped playing with them because they were becoming a choking hazard or something like that. I don't know but I think they should start to play with them again. The new generations of kids will never be the same.
Something that the younger generation will not know is good cartoons. The cartoons now are just stupid and they are giving kids bad influences like "Regular Show" is telling kids that its O.K. to mess around and do illegal stuff while on duty. They don't know what a good cartoon is. All they know is the plan and out right stupid shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show. Soon cartoons are going to be shows that will teach kids the wrong lesson.
There are so many things the younger generation will never experience some of the things I remember that have become corrupted, changed, or faded would be the old channel 11 with Mr. Rodgers and the Teletubbies. Those were my favorite shows when I was little and even though the Teletubbies are still around I feel like its been corrupted, it itsnt the same show it once was. Disney Channel has changed too I remember watching That's So Raven and shows that explained real life now all they show is how to make your life go in the opposite direction but the kids think it'll get them somewhere. There was also VHS, Barbies, Polly Pockets, the 3-D View Master, and even going outside. I used to do all of these things, I still have them and refuse to give them away! I even have an old TV with a VHS player! I want my kids experience these things if I have them… not be so caught up in iPods and Phones to where they cant have an imagnation or really know the feeling of enjoying your childhood like our generation.
Something I use to really enjoy as a little kid that most kids now don't have was going to the library. I would spend hours at the library after school just to sit and read. Now most people, not just little kids, would rather stay at home. I really miss going to the library, and whenever I really want to go, I can't because my little brother doesn't want to go with. I don't understand why the younger generation doesn't enjoy reading as much as ours does. I blame technology.
Something that I used to use as a kid that are the playgrounds or playing outside. When I was younger I used go outside as much as I could, I would go to the park by my house where there would be a ton of other kids. Now, that park is a empty, never used, it's sad because that was my childhood. Kids now can play Kinect on the Xbox and say they are having fun and getting "exercise", and we wonder why some of the kids in our country are overweight. Technology is making our society more shut-in like as it progresses and it's very sad.
Something I would always experienced as a kid would be going outside with my friends all afternoon and just enjoy the day playing around. We would just go outside my house or my friend's house and play tag or hide-and-seek. Now in days when I have little cousins over all they want to do is watch TV or play video games or use the computer. It isn't just my cousins but most kids that would rather play inside with electronics rather than to go outside. With all the new technology available to them, they would never be able to experience what we all experienced as a kid.
When i was a kid, i would always have the best time of my life on Halloween. Because of the long time of trick or treating, large amounts of candy, and the effort to make your own costume. Currently, i don't feel the same anymore. Mostly, due to how trick or treating has been reduced to only 2 hours, and the pathetic pieces of candy people give out. However, the most saddening aspect of today's "version" of Halloween, is the costumes. Most costumes i see, are either store bought, or no costume at all. Some people even told me, that they don't wear costumes, because it gives strength to the forces of evil. If that doesn't sound insane, I don't know what is.
As a kid I would always play with barbies and dress them up in many different outfits. My friends and I could sit their for hours making our barbies talk to each other. Something that is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation is playing with dolls. Nowadays children can go online and create their own free virtual doll, design their own clothes and even determine what their makeup would look like. This affects me because without dolls children will turn towards more online adds and it will create children to be lazy.
When I was younger, I use to love playing webkinz, it was the rush of waiting and getting a brand new one. It was fun collecting them all, and getting the special gifts for each one. Having to go online everyday, checking to make sure they were okay, feeding them, dressing them up, and just building a room for them. I use to sit there making each one of their rooms different, nowadays kids don't play little games like that. They play candy crush, and temple run, on their phones rather then using a home computer and having to argue over who could use it, with their siblings. It's special to me, because I still collect the stuffed animals, and it's still a rush. No one nowadays will understand what its like to take care of virtual pets, like it was back then.
Something that I experienced as a kid that my children - or even my cousins - will never experience is the fun in going to a movie store to rent a movie. When I was little, it used to be a Friday night tradition; my dad would take me to Blockbuster and let me pick out one or two movies along with a snack or candy bar. I remember scanning the rows of movies, considering my options... I recall often chosing a muppets movie or an episode of goosebumps. Now with Redbox and Netflix, you don't really have that same experience. Sure, it makes everything easier - but to me, that will never take away the excitement of physically searching for a new movie and buying extra butter popcorn along with it.
When I was younger my favorite thing to do was play outside. I would ask my mom a million times if I could go outside and when she said yes I wouldn't come back in until night time when my parents made me. Even if I was alone I would still play pretend for hours on end. Kids today rarely go outside to play, they stay inside and play games there. They get no fresh air, exercise, or imagination.
One of my favorite things to do when I was younger was to talk on Walkie-Talkies. I used to love giving one to a friend so we could talk back and forth from our houses. Now and days kids can just use their phones to text or call each other. I highly doubt any kids use them anymore. Some might not even know what a Walkie-Talkie looks like.
When I was younger on of my favorite things to do was to play with all the kids on the block. I could never get tired of it because there was always something new to do. Nowadays kids just play with each other on their video game consoles or on their phones. The new generation of kids is slowly starting to lose their imagination.
I remember everyday around noontime or after school, I'd run to the living room where my mom and dad were usually and joyfully ask, "Mom, Dad, can Cam and I go play outside with ____?" I never really see kids doing that any more. Perhaps it's because they have no imagination nor creativity to think of games to play. Maybe it's just because they have no aspiration to go out period, considering everything they'd ever want to do is inside for them. Video games, toys, games, TV, why go outside and play when it isn't even necessary to move. Even though children today might not see playing outside as a very exciting thing to do, I remember never even wanting to come inside.
When I was younger I had to share a bedroom with my older sister. We slept on bunkbeds, her on the top, and me on the bottom. After every day right before we would go to sleep, we would lay in our beds and talk about everything we did that day. I feel like kids now-a-days are losing close bonds with their siblings. They are more entertained with playing video games than going outside and playing with their siblings. Also, just in general I feel like having to share bedrooms is an uncommon thing now.
When I was a kid I would spend my summers and days after school playing outside with my neighborhood friends. I had all their house phone numbers memorized and would either call them to see if they could play or ride my bike to their house. We would play football or baseball in our backyards, or make up our own games. Then when it was dinner time I would go home, eat, and then go back to whatever I was doing with my friends. Today it seems like kids are more into playing video games and other indoor activities. When they need want to hangout, they can just text eachother. And also, it seems like these days having to go home and eat dinner with your family is a less common thing.
Something that i experienced in my lifetime that is becoming archaic to younger generations is board games. My family played board game a lot when i was younger. But now with so many video games and such advanced technology nobody plays board games anymore. My younger brother has probably never played a board game before. But instead he plays video games. I think board games are slowly becoming a very uncommon thing.
Something I experienced as a kid that is slowly becoming archaic to today's generation of kids would be using the house to call my friends. I would always have to take turns with my older sisters to use the house phone to call my friends, and I would have to give it up when my parents would need to use the phone. I would have to put people on hold and have to call them back. Then, I had to remember all of my friends numbers if I wanted to talk to them. Kids today don't even have a home phone in their house most likely, everyone has a cell phone so they do not have to wait turns, and they have contacts on their phones to keep their friends numbers handy whenever they need him. It was annoying, but that's a memory i'll never forget!
As a child my life was very simple, but I feel as reading a book would be slowly become archaic today. Every morning my mother would drop me off at the park for story time. It was like pre-k, but it was just about reading books. We would all gather around and the reader would read a story to us without pictures and we would have to be creative and think for our selves what the setting looked like. I feel as if the kids now don't have much creativity.
Something that is becoming archaic to the younger generation is going outside to play. Now that we have all this technology children today really don't need to go outside. I think it was really special to me growing up because that was the only place where you could truly pretend and be whatever you wanted to be. I think the younger generation will miss out on that.
Something that is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation of children is just playing outside with friends. Kids used to play tag and hide and seek and just play outside instead of what kids do now. Now, kids just stay inside and watch tv or play video games and they don't have the experience of playing outside and having a good time outside.
Something that is becoming archaic to the new generation of kids is playing board games. With technology today, you can even get board games on your cellphone or tablet. Playing board games with friends was always fun and never got old. Soon kids will not even know what a board game is.
something that is now unknown to the new generation is house phones. Now a days kids everywhere any age have their own cell phones!!! They don't even talk on the phone anymore the walk around texting anybody for every little thing. Sure it is fun to text people instead of calling them but what about when a relative that is older doesn't know how to text then what you're just not going to talk to them..
Something that I used to do when I was younger was playing board games with my family. Playing board games has become archaic to future generations. Those were very special moments because you did not just have the opportunity to spend time with your family, but also to develop your mind a little. Just sitting around the dinner table spending time together brought joy to us. Our favorite game was Parcheesi, and I am sure that the next generation would not be able to have the opportunity to play it.
Something that I experienced in my lifetime that little kids wont be able to experience would be board games. Before there was Ipad and not everyone had a computer, all I would do as a little kid is play board games with my little sister. Now with all this technology all kids to is go on their Ipad or computer and the board game is right there.
ReplyDeleteBack in my day, we used to go to friends houses and jump through their open windows to yell at them to get them outside! Nowadays kids text eachother...theres no fun in texting! It was like the goonies but in real life.
ReplyDeleteAs a child I would go to the library to read for fun and to check out books for school projects. Sadly , if the way we live life today continues my kids will never be able to go to the library. We use the internet now. According to many people there is no use for books. I will truly miss the experience of having my own card and choosing my own books.

There was just such a joy in receiving something in the mail in there with your name on it. Seeing who it was from and what it said was such a good moment. I miss sending letters. Now a days, kids don't need to do that. They have cell phones at age 5 and can text their friends instead. :/ How sad.
ReplyDeleteVideo games that you play for the plot.
ReplyDeleteI control your life and I prevent you from fulfilling your life. Technology! I'm the youngest of three and I do prefer calling myself a "90's kid" because I am. The one thing that I know the new generation will miss out is have fun outside. Breathing the fresh air and playing actual games... Outside! ReplyDeleteAhh... Sure you can play interactive games with others online, but, real interaction is when your with the person that
ReplyDeleteis playing with you.
ReplyDeleteSomething that I have experienced in my lifetime that is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation is 3D pinball that was a built in mini game for the old PC's.
ReplyDeleteSomething I remember when i was a kid was playing with legos and building cool stuff. Now kids play minecraft on their smartphones.
ReplyDeleteSomething I experienced in my life time that children probably will not experience a lot today. When I was little I played board games and card games. Such as monopoly and sorry! I played Uno the card game. Children won't be able to experience these certain games because of technology. Computers have many games on them. Cellular phones have games on them so do Ipads and ipods.
ReplyDeleteSomething I experienced in my lifetime that children today will probably not experience is fighting with your siblings.
ReplyDeleteSomething I experienced in my life time that children probably will not experience alot today..When I was little I would love to play with my army men and legos and make wars and stuff. Now adays kids play Blackops 2 a shootin game on xbox 360.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I always remember collecting cards. Any type of card like baseball, football, or even Pokemon cards. I hardly see anybody with those anymore. The way technology is constantly making our lives way to easy, who will need something as simple as trading cards to entertain themselves, when you can just go blow up aliens on your Xbox.
ReplyDeleteSomething that I had experienced in my childhood that I always loved were the joystick games. They were usually connected to a television show or movie that had a couple of mini games that I would play. It was special to me because it always seemed to be a treat, something that I would only get to play with if I was good. Now kids have these types of games everyday at their side. It is frustrating because it seems as if they always have it easier.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I expirenced that my younger brother and sister and children nowadays will never get the chance to was the old cartoons on like Channel 11.
ReplyDeleteSomething that is slowly becoming archaic now than from when I was little is honestly Polly Pockets.
ReplyDeletePolly Pockets.
ReplyDeleteSomething that is becoming archaic for kids is playing outside. Now kids have technology to entertain them and they find playing outside boring because they can spend hours playing on their iPads or cellphones. They just don't know how to appreciate the little things in life that are right outside their front door.
ReplyDeleteSomething that is becoming archaic for kids now is playing "hide and go seek". When I was a kid I would run around my block hiding in my neighbors yard and even in their garages. But now, all I see are little kids to entertained on their tablets.. how boring.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you, but something that is becoming for kids are the virtual pet king chains.
ReplyDeleteSomething that I have experienced in my lifetime that is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation is cartoons.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I experienced in my lifetime that I really loved was what most teenagers refer to as "The Old Disney".
ReplyDeleteSomething that I experienced in my lifetime growing up that I did all the time was play board games.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a little kid, I didn't have many friends, because i was pretty weird, so the thing i used the most as a child was my imagination, I could go hours just having fun by myself by using my imagination, and kids now don't use theirs as often. They believe they have better things to do, like play video games, use their ipods or ipads, or watching television, that doesn't require them to imagine anything else or pretend that they're someone else, and I think that's really sad.
ReplyDeleteKids these days will never be able to experience the Game Boy play system. Back then that game was very fun and entertaining to me, but now it has been replaced. New systems that serve the complete, same purpose include: X-boxes, Play Stations, and many more to come. The Game Boy was special to me, because I got it as a birthday present.
ReplyDeleteSure, now-a-days, people still video tape their precious life moments, but with a video camera that all you do is stick a little card that saves all the videos.
ReplyDeleteWhat I use to love back then and is becoming more archaic is the old Disney Channel.
ReplyDeleteI remember when all of my friends use to play yugio.
ReplyDeleteSomething I remember doing was playing with my star wars action figures acting out different battle scenes using my imagination. I used to strive to get all of the different storm troopers to complete my squads. Now a days all kids have to do is plug in a machine and the story is right before their eyes and no creative activity is needed! Using their imagination is becoming obsolete to these younger generations.
ReplyDeleteKids will never experience televisions show like we did when we were younger.
ReplyDeleteSomething I remember doing when I was littler would be playing with hotwheels. Now today, kids don't really play with hotwheels and it upsets me because I would play with those things for hours and hours every day! Maybe they stopped playing with them because they were becoming a choking hazard or something like that. I don't know but I think they should start to play with them again. The new generations of kids will never be the same.
ReplyDeleteSomething that the younger generation will not know is good cartoons.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things the younger generation will never experience some of the things I remember that have become corrupted, changed, or faded would be the old channel 11 with Mr.
ReplyDeleteSomething I use to really enjoy as a little kid that most kids now don't have was going to the library.
ReplyDeleteSomething that I used to use as a kid that are the playgrounds or playing outside.
ReplyDeleteSomething I would always experienced as a kid would be going outside with my friends all afternoon and just enjoy the day playing around.
ReplyDeleteWhen i was a kid, i would always have the best time of my life on Halloween.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid I would always play with barbies and dress them up in many different outfits.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger, I use to love playing webkinz, it was the rush of waiting and getting a brand new one.
ReplyDeleteSomething that I experienced as a kid that my children - or even my cousins - will never experience is the fun in going to a movie store to rent a movie.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger my favorite thing to do was play outside.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things to do when I was younger was to talk on Walkie-Talkies. I used to love giving one to a friend so we could talk back and forth from our houses. Now and days kids can just use their phones to text or call each other. I highly doubt any kids use them anymore. Some might not even know what a Walkie-Talkie looks like.
ReplyDeleteGood one! I didn't even think of that---yeah, now kids just use cell phones. Walkie-talkies are completely obsolete!
DeleteWhen I was younger on of my favorite things to do was to play with all the kids on the block. I could never get tired of it because there was always something new to do. Nowadays kids just play with each other on their video game consoles or on their phones. The new generation of kids is slowly starting to lose their imagination.
ReplyDeleteI remember everyday around noontime or after school, I'd run to the living room where my mom and dad were usually and joyfully ask, "Mom, Dad, can Cam and I go play outside with ____?" I never really see kids doing that any more.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger I had to share a bedroom with my older sister.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I would spend my summers and days after school playing outside with my neighborhood friends.
ReplyDeleteSomething that i experienced in my lifetime that is becoming archaic to younger generations is board games. My family played board game a lot when i was younger. But now with so many video games and such advanced technology nobody plays board games anymore. My younger brother has probably never played a board game before. But instead he plays video games. I think board games are slowly becoming a very uncommon thing.
ReplyDeleteSomething I experienced as a kid that is slowly becoming archaic to today's generation of kids would be using the house to call my friends.
ReplyDeleteAs a child my life was very simple, but I feel as reading a book would be slowly become archaic today. Every morning my mother would drop me off at the park for story time. It was like pre-k, but it was just about reading books. We would all gather around and the reader would read a story to us without pictures and we would have to be creative and think for our selves what the setting looked like. I feel as if the kids now don't have much creativity.
ReplyDeleteSomething that is becoming archaic to the younger generation is going outside to play. Now that we have all this technology children today really don't need to go outside. I think it was really special to me growing up because that was the only place where you could truly pretend and be whatever you wanted to be. I think the younger generation will miss out on that.
ReplyDeleteSomething that is slowly becoming archaic to the younger generation of children is just playing outside with friends. Kids used to play tag and hide and seek and just play outside instead of what kids do now. Now, kids just stay inside and watch tv or play video games and they don't have the experience of playing outside and having a good time outside.
ReplyDeleteSomething that is becoming archaic to the new generation of kids is playing board games. With technology today, you can even get board games on your cellphone or tablet. Playing board games with friends was always fun and never got old. Soon kids will not even know what a board game is.
ReplyDeletesomething that is now unknown to the new generation is house phones. Now a days kids everywhere any age have their own cell phones!!! They don't even talk on the phone anymore the walk around texting anybody for every little thing. Sure it is fun to text people instead of calling them but what about when a relative that is older doesn't know how to text then what you're just not going to talk to them..
ReplyDeleteSomething that I used to do when I was younger was playing board games with my family.
